NWSS Events Update: How about a little Jazz? Bandcamp? Musical Theatre?

June 7, 2017 – Check out some great musical performances as NWSS Band students fan out into the community to perform, play a little jazz, and liven up community events this week.  Or sign up for NWSS Summer Bandcamp and perform in Queen’s Park. If singing and dancing’s more your style, why not hone your talents at Musical Theatre Summer Camp. Check out the details below:  It’s all happening thanks to New Westminster Secondary School!

Saturday June 10th
NWSS Students Ensembles perform at Uptown Unplugged.
Noon to 2pm
Stage is located in front of London Drugs on 6th Street

 

 

Saturday June 10th
New West Swing presents Swing Dance featuring NWSS Senior Jazz Ensemble Liquid Time
7:30pm
Sapperton Hall, 318 Keary Street New Westminster
Tickets $15 available at the door. Includes a swing-dance lesson!


Sunday June 11th
NWSS Jazz Ensembles play at the Firefighters Recycling Event, The Shredathon

Band camp 640NWSS BandCamp – July 3 – 21st, 2017

Make music and friends over the summer break. Middle school students will have a chance to make a connection with the high school, meet older students and teachers, and be tutored by senior students. The final day of the camp features a live performance in Queen’s Park.

  • Musical Theatre Summer Camp – July 4-9, 2017
    • For youth aged 12-18 years
    • Presented by Royal City Musical Theatre in partnership with the NWSS Musical Theatre Program

Join us for a master-class experience: a fun-filled week of singing and dancing culminating at a showcase on Sunday, July 9th, on the Massey stage. Classes will focus on the skills development of each individual artist and will feature vocal coaching, acting coaching and dance lessons. Audition techniques will also be covered.

  • Where: Massey Theatre
  • When: July 4-9, 2017 from 1:00 pm-6:00 pm each day
  • Price: $300.00 plus tax. Total $315.00
