About summer learning K-5 courses

  • All classes run will be held at Qayqayt Elementary.
  • Classes run from July 3 until July 19 from 9 a.m. to 12:05 p.m.
  • Classes are free for all students currently enrolled in kindergarten to grade 5 in school within the New Westminster school district (SD40) or enrolled to start grade 1 or higher in September 2024. Fees may apply for international students.
  • Classes may be cancelled if there is insufficient interest.
  • Unless otherwise noted, grade levels listed in courses reference the grade the student will enter in September 2024.
  • Full attendance is expected.
  • Please note: These classes are educational programs funded through the Ministry of Education and Child Care and are not summer camps. Staff are only able to teach and supervise students during course hours.

Please note: Students are considered “in-district” if they are currently enrolled within the New Westminster Schools (SD40) system.

  • Please note: All summer learning applications are treated on a first-come-first-served basis and we are only accepting applications from in-district students.
  • Applicants will need a PEN number to register.
  • If you have questions or need help, please contact us.
  • International students: Please register online through the regular process. As an international student, note that course fees may apply.
