Proposed 2019-2020 School Calendar
The Board of Education invites your comment on the Proposed 2019-2020 Calendar.
The School Act and the School Calendar Regulation B.C. Reg. 314/12 require that proposed school calendars be made public at least one month prior to planned submission to the Minister of Education, and that the Board of Education provide the opportunity to parents of students enrolled in each school, and to representatives of employees of the Board, to provide comments with respect to the proposed calendar.
School districts may develop school calendars for up to 3 years. At this time, only the 2019/20 School Calendar is being presented for approval. However, the tentative Start, End and Holiday dates for the 2021-2022 School Year and the 2022-2023 School Year have been identified and can be viewed by clicking on the links.
For 2019/20, the key proposed dates for the District Calendar* are:
First day of school: Tuesday, September 3, 2019
