Good news: addition to Queen Elizabeth Elementary supported by Province

March 11, 2020 – We’re excited to share the news that the Province of British Columbia has given formal support to our top capital expansion project in New Westminster: an addition to Queen Elizabeth Elementary School! This much needed expansion paves the way for many additional classrooms to serve the fast-growing community of Queensborough.

This announcement means our architectural lead will now be working with teams of quantity surveyors, mechanical and structural engineers, and more to help build the Concept Plan and the Project Definition Report – the final step required to give us the go-ahead needed to secure provincial funding.

As we find out more about the details and exact timelines, we’ll continue to keep you up-to date on the progress.

Today though, we celebrate. This is a great news story for Queen Elizabeth Elementary: one that will help us better support our young learners and the rich tapestry of families we proudly connect with every day.

Also announced this week was funding for other minor capital projects in New Westminster – including for a roof replacement at Herbert Spencer Elementary, a roof replacement at Glenbrook Middle, flooring upgrades at Glenbrook Middle, mechanical upgrades to the air circulation systems at Connaught Heights Elementary, and mechanical upgrades to air circulation at FW Howay Elementary.
