Application to return to in-class instruction, from the Online Learning for K-8 program

We understand that circumstances may change for families over the course of this year. And we also understand that, after some time, you may determine that online learning isn’t working well for one or more of your children, or for your family as a whole.

If you have decided that you’re comfortable, ready or needing to return to in-class instruction, we will do our best to place your child back at the school they left, space permitting. Due to shifts in staffing and cohorts though – as part of the work to create and expand our online learning programs – we may not be able to accommodate your exact requested placement. In which case, we’ll connect with you to discuss what other schools may have openings to support your child(ren).

As previously guaranteed, if we cannot place your student this year at the school they departed from and we need to place them at a different school, they will automatically be placed in the school and/or Program of Choice they came from for September 2021.

Important Timelines:

  • Applications will be accepted from March 1, 9:00 am to March 5 at 4:00 pm
  • Families will be notified of student placement by March 11
  • Students who have completed the transfer process will return to in-class instruction on March 29, 2021

This is the final window for transfer before the end of the current school year.

In filling in the below application, you confirm your understanding that, once processed, you cannot return to the K-8 Online Learning Program.

The final 2020/2021 application window to return to in-class instruction has closed. If you have any questions, please reach out to the program leads for more.
