See below for a better idea of the range of specialists and experts, and to get a better sense of what each of them is responsible for doing.<\/p>\n<h3>School-based staff<\/h3>\n<table style=\"border-collapse: collapse; width: 100%;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 26.8836%;\"><strong>STAFF ROLE<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 73.1164%;\"><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 26.8836%;\"><strong>School Counsellor<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 73.1164%;\">Facilitates the educational, personal, social-emotional, and career development of students.<\/p>\n<p>Develops Individual Education Plans (IEP) for students in Ministry Categories R and H.<\/p>\n<p>Liaises with community partners and supports outside agency referrals.<\/p>\n<p>Supports staff with self-care, social emotional learning, mental health and trauma training.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 26.8836%;\"><strong>Aboriginal Support Worker<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 73.1164%;\">Provides academic, social-emotional, and cultural support for<br \/>\nIndigenous students.<\/p>\n<p>Liaises with families and community members.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 26.8836%;\"><strong>Educational Assistant<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 73.1164%;\">Supports all students in their educational program.<\/p>\n<p>Supports implementation of Positive Behaviour Support Plans.<\/p>\n<p>Works under the direction of the classroom teacher and\/or the Learning Support Teacher.<\/p>\n<p>Participates in the development of Individual Education Plans (IEP).<\/p>\n<p>Supports implementation of a student\u2019s Individual Education Plans (IEP).<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 26.8836%;\"><strong>Child and Youth Care Worker<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 73.1164%;\">Works directly with students in classrooms and other settings to support student wellness.<\/p>\n<p>Implements groups to support self-regulation, social skills, leadership<br \/>\nand diversity.<\/p>\n<p>Provides attendance support and outreach.<\/p>\n<p>Works under the direction of the Counsellor, Administrator and School-Based Team.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 26.8836%;\"><strong>Learning Support Teacher<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 73.1164%;\">Classroom support in academics.<\/p>\n<p>Push-in and pull-out instruction.<\/p>\n<p>Co-teaching and collaboration with classroom teachers.<\/p>\n<p>Individual Education Plan (IEP) development and implementation.<\/p>\n<p>Teach enrolling courses at the secondary level.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 26.8836%;\"><strong>English Language Learning Support Teacher<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 73.1164%;\">Support English Language Learning students (Level 1 to 5).<\/p>\n<p>Annual Instruction Plan development and implementation.<\/p>\n<p>Teach enrolling courses at the secondary level.<\/p>\n<p>Support students in their classrooms.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>District-wide staff<\/h3>\n<table style=\"border-collapse: collapse; width: 100%;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 26.8836%;\"><strong>STAFF ROLE<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 73.1164%;\"><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 26.8836%;\"><strong>Speech Language Pathologist<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 73.1164%;\">Service delivery involves assessment, consultation, and in some cases direct service.<\/p>\n<p>Service is prioritized to students in kindergarten to grade 3.<\/p>\n<p>Referred by the School-Based Team in consultation with parents.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 26.8836%;\"><strong>Speech Language Pathologist &#8211; Early Literacy<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 73.1164%;\">Provides support to all staff in the area of literacy interventions.<\/p>\n<p>Focuses on supporting skills at the early elementary level.<\/p>\n<p>May provide direct support to students on a short-term basis.<\/p>\n<p>Referred by the School-Based Team in consultation with parents.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 26.8836%;\"><strong>Occupational Therapist<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 73.1164%;\">Collaborates with families, schools, and other service providers to support students who fall in Low Incidence Ministry Categories (A to G).<\/p>\n<p>Services are provided by employees of Share Society.<\/p>\n<p>Referred by the School-Based Team in consultation with parents.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 26.8836%;\"><strong>Physical Therapist<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 73.1164%;\">Collaborates with families, schools, and other service providers to support students who fall in Low Incidence Ministry Categories (A to G).<\/p>\n<p>Services are provided by employees of Share Society.<\/p>\n<p>Referred by the School-Based Team in consultation with the parents.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 26.8836%;\"><strong>Vision Teacher<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 73.1164%;\">Supports students who meet Ministry of Education criteria for a designation of visual impairment &#8211; Ministry Category E.<\/p>\n<p>Referred by the School-Based Team in consultation with the parents.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 26.8836%;\"><strong>Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 73.1164%;\">Supports students who meet Ministry of Education criteria for a designation of Deaf or Hard of Hearing &#8211;
