Almost a year ago the Board of Education made a commitment to engage in developing a stronger mandate around anti-racism \u2013 through both policy and learning opportunities.<\/p>\n
This work is happening under the leadership of Ravinder Johal, our District Principal for Equity and Inclusion, leaning on our Anti-Racism Advisory Committee. Rav has also been working with a small consulting group who specializes in this area: Bakau Consulting. The Bakau team will be doing a few things for us, including reviewing policy, hosting a selection of small focus groups, delivering and analyzing both a staff and a student, parent and community survey, and supporting the later development of a Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) Framework.<\/p>\n
And now the ask: we need to hear from you … parents, students, caregivers and community members!\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Bakau Consulting has set up an anonymous survey to help us better understand the experiences you and\/or your children may have, your perception of what\u2019s happening within our schools, and more general thoughts on what you think is working and where there are opportunities to do more.<\/p>\n There are no wrong answers. The responses are anonymous. And the Bakau team will be the only ones accessing raw data and the survey back-end, as they will collect and report back the findings to us.<\/p>\n The survey will take around 15 minutes to complete. This will inform policy and learning moving forward, so your input really matters!<\/p>\n
