The local annual French public speaking contest for students grade 6-12 is taking place from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 4 at \u00c9cole Glenbrook Middle School. Student winners will go the next level and compete in the 2017 Provincial <a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/1fKi1Ig\" target=\"_blank\">Concours d&#8217;art oratoire<\/a>\u00a0taking place May 6, 2017 at Simon Fraser University&#8217;s Surrey Campus. Prizes include\u00a0university scholarships, trips to Ottawa, books, and more.<\/p>\n<p>Today&#8217;s event is hosted by\u00a0New Westminster schools and Canadian Parents for French. \u00a0All parents, students, peers and family members are invited to attend the <a href=\"https:\/\/newwestschools.ca\/archive_241212\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Concours-flyer.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">event<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Tuesday, April 4th, 2017: 4:00-6:00 p.m.<br \/>\n\u00c9cole Glenbrook Middle School<br \/>\n701 Park Crescent, New Westminster, BC V3L 5V4<br \/>\nGymnasium (located on the bottom floor)<\/p>\n<p>Last year, more than 10,000 students in grades six through 12 participated in the Concours in communities throughout BC. Almost 300 students participated in the Provincial Concours, and 4 students participated in the National Concours in Ottawa.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today is the day!
