Climate Leadership Training\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0program workshops. They took on<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 300;\">\u00a0the\u00a0<\/span><strong>Cool It! Challenge<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 300;\"> to change their energy consumption &#8211; \u00a0and together reduced greenhouse gas emissions in New Westminster by nearly 140 tonnes. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Ramen&#8217;s class won last week for the greatest number of GHG reductions &#8211; and will be celebrating year end with a pizza party for their contributions.<\/p>\n<p>Environmental Educators with the <strong>Cool it! Climate Leadership Training<\/strong> program this year gave 138 workshops in 12 municipalities across BC &#8211; with the City of New Westminster sponsoring eight workshops.<\/p>\n<p>The<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>program develops and empowers young sustainability champions in schools in British Columbia.\u00a0It is offered through the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bcsea.org\/bcsea-info\" target=\"_blank\">BC Sustainable Energy Association <\/a>to school districts free of charge where it is sponsored by the local Municipality or District.<\/p>\n<p>Students take home the four-week <strong>Cool It! Challenge<\/strong>\u00a0that encourages families to make easy but important changes to their energy consumption.
