Lawlor, a 32-year veteran in education, previously worked as a director of instruction (graduation and innovation) for Coast Mountains School District (SD82) in Terrace, British Columbia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have great confidence Geraldine\u2019s presence and leadership will help our district achieve wonderful things for our students and families,\u201d said Mark Davidson, superintendent. \u201cHer wealth of experience and obvious care for the community we serve are inspiring.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a great honour to be given an opportunity to work in one of B.C.\u2019s most progressive districts,\u201d said Lawlor. \u201cI\u2019m looking forward to serving the community\u2019s students and parents as associate superintendent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lawlor earned two bachelor&#8217;s degrees in biochemistry and secondary education from the Memorial University of Newfoundland and a Master of Education in curriculum and instruction from the University of British Columbia. She spent 22 years as a classroom teacher before rising to the position of vice principal and principal in an alternate school.
