C’est aujourd’hui! District French public speaking contest today

The local annual French public speaking contest for students grade 6-12 is taking place from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 4 at École Glenbrook Middle School. Student winners will go the next level and compete in the 2017 Provincial Concours d’art oratoire taking place May 6, 2017 at Simon Fraser University’s Surrey Campus. Prizes include university scholarships, trips to Ottawa, books, and more.

Today’s event is hosted by New Westminster schools and Canadian Parents for French.  All parents, students, peers and family members are invited to attend the event:

Last year, more than 10,000 students in grades six through 12 participated in the Concours in communities throughout BC. Almost 300 students participated in the Provincial Concours, and 4 students participated in the National Concours in Ottawa.
