Once students arrive, they must stay at school for the rest of the day unless they have permission to leave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students may go home for lunch if a parent or guardian gives written permission. This note must be kept on file at the office. If a student wants to go to a store at lunch, a parent or guardian must go with them, and the student must sign out and back in at the office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If a student leaves campus without permission, the school will contact their parent or guardian.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Visitors<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>All visitors, including parents, must enter through the front door on Park Crescent and check in at the office. All other doors stay locked during the school day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>They must wear a Visitor ID Badge while in the school.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Student pick-up and drop-off<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Students should be dropped off and picked up at the front of the school on Park Crescent or on the south side of the school on Jack Mahoney Place. Hold and secure<\/p>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"wp-block-ub-content-toggle-accordion-toggle-wrap right\" style=\"color: #000000;\"><span class=\"wp-block-ub-content-toggle-accordion-state-indicator wp-block-ub-chevron-down\"><\/span><\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<div role=\"region\" aria-expanded=\"false\" class=\"wp-block-ub-content-toggle-accordion-content-wrap ub-hide\" id=\"ub-content-toggle-panel-0-afd91c29-d5a7-469c-a945-94bf71647fba\">\n\n<p><strong>Used if there is a security concern in the school\u2019s neighbourhood.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hold and secure protects school occupants from danger in the neighbourhood or community outside. For example, a police incident in the immediate area, suspicious strangers on school grounds, or protests\/civil disturbances nearby.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-ub-content-toggle-accordion\" style=\"border-color: #f1f1f1; \" id=\"ub-content-toggle-panel-block-6b1608f2-9215-4a17-8af9-e27f159c77d1\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"wp-block-ub-content-toggle-accordion-title-wrap\" style=\"background-color: #f1f1f1;\" aria-controls=\"ub-content-toggle-panel-1-afd91c29-d5a7-469c-a945-94bf71647fba\" tabindex=\"0\">\n\t\t\t<p class=\"wp-block-ub-content-toggle-accordion-title ub-content-toggle-title-afd91c29-d5a7-469c-a945-94bf71647fba\" style=\"color: #000000; \">2. Shelter in place<\/p>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"wp-block-ub-content-toggle-accordion-toggle-wrap right\" style=\"color: #000000;\"><span class=\"wp-block-ub-content-toggle-accordion-state-indicator wp-block-ub-chevron-down\"><\/span><\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<div role=\"region\" aria-expanded=\"false\" class=\"wp-block-ub-content-toggle-accordion-content-wrap ub-hide\" id=\"ub-content-toggle-panel-1-afd91c29-d5a7-469c-a945-94bf71647fba\">\n\n<p><strong>Used if an environmental hazard may affect the school.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shelter in place shields staff and students from hazardous conditions outdoors by holding them inside the school. This action is often initiated in response to environmental or weather-related events (e.g. smoke\/chemical\/airborne contaminants, severe weather, dangerous animals, etc.) and typically requires closing the school\u2019s exterior doors and windows and shutting off ventilation systems.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-ub-content-toggle-accordion\" style=\"border-color: #f1f1f1; \" id=\"ub-content-toggle-panel-block-6b1608f2-9215-4a17-8af9-e27f159c77d1\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"wp-block-ub-content-toggle-accordion-title-wrap\" style=\"background-color: #f1f1f1;\" aria-controls=\"ub-content-toggle-panel-2-afd91c29-d5a7-469c-a945-94bf71647fba\" tabindex=\"0\">\n\t\t\t<p class=\"wp-block-ub-content-toggle-accordion-title ub-content-toggle-title-afd91c29-d5a7-469c-a945-94bf71647fba\" style=\"color: #000000; \">3. Lockdown<\/p>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"wp-block-ub-content-toggle-accordion-toggle-wrap right\" style=\"color: #000000;\"><span class=\"wp-block-ub-content-toggle-accordion-state-indicator wp-block-ub-chevron-down\"><\/span><\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<div role=\"region\" aria-expanded=\"false\" class=\"wp-block-ub-content-toggle-accordion-content-wrap ub-hide\" id=\"ub-content-toggle-panel-2-afd91c29-d5a7-469c-a945-94bf71647fba\">\n\n<p><strong>Used in response to an armed or dangerous assailant inside the school.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lockdowns are implemented to protect school occupants from a dangerous individual inside the building. For example, a person with a knife, firearm, or other weapon who is threatening to harm or is in the process of harming people.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-ub-content-toggle-accordion\" style=\"border-color: #f1f1f1; \" id=\"ub-content-toggle-panel-block-6b1608f2-9215-4a17-8af9-e27f159c77d1\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"wp-block-ub-content-toggle-accordion-title-wrap\" style=\"background-color: #f1f1f1;\" aria-controls=\"ub-content-toggle-panel-3-afd91c29-d5a7-469c-a945-94bf71647fba\" tabindex=\"0\">\n\t\t\t<p class=\"wp-block-ub-content-toggle-accordion-title ub-content-toggle-title-afd91c29-d5a7-469c-a945-94bf71647fba\" style=\"color: #000000; \">4. Drop, cover, and hold on<\/p>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"wp-block-ub-content-toggle-accordion-toggle-wrap right\" style=\"color: #000000;\"><span class=\"wp-block-ub-content-toggle-accordion-state-indicator wp-block-ub-chevron-down\"><\/span><\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<div role=\"region\" aria-expanded=\"false\" class=\"wp-block-ub-content-toggle-accordion-content-wrap ub-hide\" id=\"ub-content-toggle-panel-3-afd91c29-d5a7-469c-a945-94bf71647fba\">\n\n<p><strong>Used in the event of an earthquake, explosion, or any incident that causes the building to shake.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Drop, cover, and hold on is used for emergencies where there is an immediate, physical impact on the school that causes its internal contents (e.g. furniture, books, etc.) to move around in ways that may cause injuries.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-ub-content-toggle-accordion\" style=\"border-color: #f1f1f1; \" id=\"ub-content-toggle-panel-block-6b1608f2-9215-4a17-8af9-e27f159c77d1\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"wp-block-ub-content-toggle-accordion-title-wrap\" style=\"background-color: #f1f1f1;\" aria-controls=\"ub-content-toggle-panel-4-afd91c29-d5a7-469c-a945-94bf71647fba\" tabindex=\"0\">\n\t\t\t<p class=\"wp-block-ub-content-toggle-accordion-title ub-content-toggle-title-afd91c29-d5a7-469c-a945-94bf71647fba\" style=\"color: #000000; \">5. Evacuate<\/p>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"wp-block-ub-content-toggle-accordion-toggle-wrap right\" style=\"color: #000000;\"><span class=\"wp-block-ub-content-toggle-accordion-state-indicator wp-block-ub-chevron-down\"><\/span><\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<div role=\"region\" aria-expanded=\"false\" class=\"wp-block-ub-content-toggle-accordion-content-wrap ub-hide\" id=\"ub-content-toggle-panel-4-afd91c29-d5a7-469c-a945-94bf71647fba\">\n\n<p><strong>Used to relocate occupants out of the building when a hazard exists inside.<\/strong> Evacuation instructions are issued in the event of fires, earthquakes, hazardous spills, etc. or as required after a lockdown or drop, cover, and hold on order.
