Some teachers may ask for additional items once classes begin in September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students do not need to have everything on the first day. We recommend bringing a duo-tang with looseleaf paper and a few writing tools to start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Binder \u2013 1 large or 2 medium<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Binder dividers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Duo-tang \u2013 8 (multi-coloured)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lined paper \u2013 3-4 packages throughout the year<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Graph paper \u2013 1 package (Metric)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Paper ring reinforcements<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pencil box or pencil pouch<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pencils<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Eraser<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pens \u2013 blue and red<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pencil crayons<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ruler<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Highlighter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Glue stick<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scissors<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Calculator<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Protractor and compass<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Box of tissues<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ear buds\/headphones (can be used with permission of teacher).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Laptop or tablet for Bring Your Own Device program*.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Combination lock for your locker.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gym strip: running shoes, t-shirt, shorts or track pants.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> Before purchasing a laptop or tablet for school, please connect with your child\u2019s teacher to determine the technology needs of their specific classroom. Information about the <a href=\"https:\/\/newwestschools.ca\/district-resources\/tech-hub-for-parents\/bring-your-own-device-byod\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/newwestschools.ca\/district-resources\/tech-hub-for-parents\/bring-your-own-device-byod\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Bring Your Own Device program<\/strong><\/a> will be sent home to families in the first few weeks of school.
