Holiday card contest: the results!

We partnered with the Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation this holiday season for a district-wide contest to design their holiday card! Kids from kindergarten through grade 5 let their imagination run wild and created pieces of art based on the theme “Celebrate the Holiday Season.”

The judges included:

  • Jeffrey Norris, CEO of the Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation
  • Phil Miscio, Manager of Save-On-Foods and
  • Patrick Johnstone, Mayor of New Westminster.

And now, after much anticipation, the results are in!

Not surprisingly to us, the students blew it out of the water with their whimsical creations. In fact, their designs were so fun and creative, the judges couldn’t just settle on just one option. So, please give a round of applause to the not one, not two, not three, not even four, but five winners (pictured above):

  • Garrett Bayer, age 8.
  • Santiago Stephen, age 9.
  • Freya Pan, age 8.
  • Ashna Mathur, age 7
  • Paige Quizon, age 10.

Congratulations to all the winners and thank you to every single student who submitted their artwork!

The above cards have already been printed and are being sold as a pack of five cards for $10. You can find them at three separate Save-On-Foods locations in New Westminster:

  • Columbia Square Plaza
  • Royal City Centre
  • The Brewery District

100% of the proceeds from these cards will go to the Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation to ensure that our healthcare providers have the tools they need, to support patients when they need it most.

The big question is: are any young artists starting to plan their submissions for next year yet?
