Through this process, students choose to reflect on one of the three Core Competencies (Communication, Thinking, and Personal &amp; Social Responsibility). Students will complete two more reflections this school year (January 2027 and April 2027).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>The Core Competencies are a key part of the BC curriculum and are intended to help students develop the skills needed for success in school. Reflection is an important part of this process, as it encourages students to think about their learning and recognize their growth over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>A student&#8217;s completed reflection is emailed to both the student and the parent\/guardian email address on file. We encourage families to take a few moments to review the reflection together and discuss the strengths, challenges, and goals th student has identified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All students must complete this Self-Assessment of Core Competencies &amp; Student Goal Setting.
