Parents’ Night Out! Coming up Oct. 22
New Westminster Students – Their Stories
Each year, school districts in the province provide opportunities
for students to share how they are doing in areas of well-being,
human connections, school experiences and community
engagement.
Come and hear what your children are saying and learn how you can support them in areas of social and emotional well-being.
This free Parents’ Night Out event for parents will feature Dr. Kimberly Schonert-Reichl, Director of the Human Early Learning Partnership in the School of Population and Public Health in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of B.C. She is a renowned expert in the area of social and emotional learning research with children and adolescents, particularly in identifying the processes that foster empathy, compassion, altruism, and resiliency.
The Parents’ Night Out Committee has been offering free, high-quality education nights for parents and caregivers in New Westminster since 2007. The committee is made up of representatives from:
- District Parent Advisory Council
- Fraser Health
- New Westminster Police Department
- New Westminster School District
- New Westminster Youth Services
We are pleased to offer four PNO events per year.
