Please use the link for a current list of QE staff members (<a href=\"https:\/\/newwestschools.ca\/qee\/contact-us\/staff-contacts\/\">link<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>Student Personal Devices \u2013 Including Smart Watches and phones<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Policy 104 &#8211; Appendix B &#8211; No access to or use of such devices at any time during the school day.&nbsp; This is essentially a \u201cbell-to-bell\u201d restriction from the beginning of school to the end of the day.&nbsp; Parents are reminded that elementary students are always under direct supervision and that the school will communicate with home for any emergent need that arises.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>Walking School Bus<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We&nbsp;are excited to announce that applications for the 2026-27 Walking School Bus are now open at your school!&nbsp;A Walking School Bus (WSB) is an organized group of children who walk to school together with the support of one or more Walk Leaders. This community-based program is free for participants!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The WSB follows a route and has \u201cBus Stops\u201d along the way to pick up children on our route and drop them off at school safely. Families are welcome to visit classrooms and meet staff during this time. Doors will be open once students have been dismissed to their families or daycare providers. Students must be accompanied by an adult during this event. Looking forward to seeing everyone!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) &#8211;<\/u><\/strong> Monday, September 21 at 6:30 \u2013 First PAC meeting of the year. Meeting is held on Zoom \u2013 link will be sent to families through email<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>School Cash Online Items<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you have not done so already, please use <strong><u>School Cash Online<\/u><\/strong> to purchase school supplies and\/or planners, and complete your child\u2019s back to school permissions. Please contact your classroom teacher or the school office if you have any questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>Parking Lot and Street Parking<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Parking lot is for STAFF ONLY.<\/strong> There is no parking in the staff parking lot<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>We have designated spots for drop off<\/strong> at the front entrance in the roundabout. <strong>There is NO PARKING in this drop-off zone<\/strong>. <strong>Drop off zones are intended for children who are ready to walk independently to their line up areas<\/strong>. Most of our Grade 2-4 children can be dropped in this zone and walk independently to their line up areas in the morning. Parking in these zones creates a traffic jam and it becomes unsafe for our families who are walking. Please do not park in these spots.
