About counselling at NWSS

School counsellors support students with academic planning, career goals, and personal well-being. They are trained professionals in both education and counselling.

Counsellors can help with:

  • Personal issues at home or school.
  • Stress, anxiety or emotional overwhelm.
  • Questions about identity, orientation or sexuality.
  • Conflicts with classes or school routines.
  • Referrals to outside supports, like mental health services.
  • Course planning for graduation and beyond.
  • Course changes
  • Academic struggles or falling behind.
  • Scholarship and post-secondary information.

Students are encouraged to reach out whenever they need support.
