What is dry grad?

Dry grad is a drug and alcohol free celebration organized by parent volunteers to honour the accomplishments of Grade 12 students in a safe, fun, and supervised environment. This event is separate from the grad dinner and dance (Prom).

Event Details

  • The event will be held at Central City Fun Park on Tuesday June 23rd, following the Graduation Ceremony.
  • It is a late night event running from approximately 10pm to 3am.
  • Transportation to the event is provided after the ceremony.

  • Please reach out if you are able to volunteer in fundraising or planning this event.

Tickets

  • Tickets must be pre-purchased (no sales at the door).
  • Sales begin after spring break.
  • More details will be shared as they become available.

Supporting dry grad

Dry grad is a parent-led, highly subsidized event, with ticket sales covering only a portion of the total cost. Community support is vital to make this celebration possible. The Dry Grad organizers operate as a committee under the Parent Advisory Council (PAC).

Ways to contribute

  • Join the Parent Dry Grad Committee by emailing newwestdrygrad@gmail.com.
  • Volunteer at fundraising events or lead a fundraiser
  • Reach out to businesses for sponsorship and donations (email the Committee for a letter to support your ask!).
  • Consider making a donation.

To donate, visit School Cash Online and select “NWSS DRY GRAD” as the fund destination. Tax receipts are issued by the district for all eligible donations. Please forward your receipt to newwestdrygrad@gmail.com to help with our tracking and budgeting.

  • Purdy’s Chocolates Campaign: November 10th through December 1st.
  • Meridian Farm Market: Online gift card sales November 1st through 28th. Free delivery in the lower mainland for orders over $125 and 30% goes to NWSS Dry Grad!
  • Dry Grad Return-It Fundraiser: On your Return-It app make a one time or recurring donation to https://app.return-it.ca/nwssdrygrad.
  • Dine in/out at El Santo – November 20th: Mention “NWSS Dry Grad” when dining in or ordering out and 10% of your bill will be donated. El Santo is also running a Gift Card Blitz throughout December, donating 10% of all gift card purchases!
  • Upcoming Dine Out Partners: We’re planning future events with Cockney Kings, Taverna Greka, and Me n Eds. If you know of other businesses that might want to participate, please let the committee know.
