About our school
Fraser River Middle School (FRMS) opened in September 2016 as New Westminster’s third middle school. We are located at the corner of Queens Avenue and Eighth Street, on the former site of John Robson Elementary.
We welcome students in Grades 6 to 8 from four elementary schools:
- École Qayqayt Elementary School
- Lord Kelvin Elementary School
- Lord Tweedsmuir Elementary School
- Connaught Heights Elementary School
All families, current and new, are welcomed in our learning community.
Safety procedures overview
Our school follows rules from the Ministry of Education and Child Care to help keep students safe. We expect everyone to behave in a respectful and responsible way and want all students to feel safe and included.
Fraser River Middle School practices safety (e.g. fire, earthquake, lockdown) drills throughout the year. We ask all parents at the start of each school year to update their contact and emergency information.
In an emergency, the school will work with local police, fire services, the city, health services, and child and family services to respond as needed.
