Welcome back to school! We hope everyone enjoyed their summer and found some time to relax, play and refresh. We are excited to start the 2026/ 2027 school year and look forward to seeing our new and returning families!
The construction team has been very busy, and the changes are exciting. We can officially start the countdown to completion of the new addition, as we are expecting to enter the building mid way through this school year! We now have new sidewalks around various parts of the school, with additional paving scheduled over the next week or so.
Parents, students and staff will also notice some upgrades and welcome changes from our SD40 maintenance team who worked very hard on our school once again this year – new flooring, continued upgrades with lighting and new cladding on our modulars.
The first week is a busy time for families and staff so please mark your calendars with some important information as we head into September. Please read the information below to check what our first days of school will look like for your children and family schedules as well as information on school supplies.
School Start Up Grade 1 – 4
Tuesday, September 8th from 8:50 – 9:50 – students in Grade 1-4 will attend for only one hour (please do not bring school supplies on this day)
Returning Students:
Tuesday, September 8th, students will meet last year’s teacher/designate in their same line up area as last year. Students will be dismissed from the same area at 9:50.
New Students to QE:
Tuesday September 8th, all NEW Grade 1-4 students will report to the main office where they will be escorted to the library. New students will be dismissed at the main entrance.
Wednesday, September 9th from 8:50 – 3:00 – ALL students in Grade 1-4 attend a full day
- please line up at last year’s teacher/designate in their same line up area as last year
- NEW students will report to the main office in the morning
NEW Classrooms – Students will be organized into their NEW classrooms during the school day on Wednesday. Please look for emails from your new classroom teacher on Wednesday at 2:00, September 9th with the new pick-up area for your child.
ALL students (returning and NEW to school) will be dismissed from their new classroom pick up/drop off area on Wednesday afternoon.
If you know your child will not be at school on the first day, please email or call the office to notify us. It is extremely important that we have a clear understanding of which children will be returning to Queen Elizabeth and which children are moving on to different schools.
Kindergarten Students
A special welcome to students and families entering Kindergarten this year. We look forward to meeting our new young learners. Kindergarten students do not attend school on September 8th. Please review the gradual entry schedule link below.

All Kindergarten families will receive an email outlining the upcoming orientation, as well as information from your child’s teacher confirming your arrival location for gradual entry and parent interview sign up information. Please check emails on September 8th from your classroom teacher.
Wednesday, September 9th –
- Kindergarten Orientation – Parents ONLY will attend a short orientation session on Wednesday, September 9th at 9:30.
- Classroom Visits – Parent and Child attend from 1:00pm – 2:15pm.
School Supplies – purchased through School Cash Online
The $50 school supply fee has been added to all accounts to purchase school supplies for the year. You should have received an email from School Cash but you can also log in using the link below.
It is important to sign up and register for School Cash Online if you have not done so already.

Recess – 10:15 (A) and 10:30 (B) (school is divided into 2 recess times)

MyEd Family Portal …
Is CLOSED until mid to late September. Parents will receive an email once they have access to MyEd family portal. June report cards will still be available at that time.
