Choirs and performances
The Queen Elizabeth Elementary choir is a wonderful way for students to explore music, build confidence, and share their voices with the community. Open to students in Grades 3 and 4, the choir performs several times throughout the school year.
Highlights include Remembrance Day performances, festive holiday shows, and QEE’s year-end event. Students have the chance to sing as part of a team, build friendships, and experience the joy of performing in front of an audience.
Information for the 2025-2026 school year will be posted here when available.
Family Fridays
Family Fridays are a special way for families to connect with their children’s learning. Each Friday morning at drop-off, parents and guardians are invited into classrooms to take part in reading, math games and other learning activities. It’s a unique opportunity to experience the classroom environment and see student learning in action.
Family Fridays are a well-loved tradition and reflect our school’s vision: to build a caring and inclusive community where children, staff, and families learn together.
Walking field trips and Walking Wednesdays
Outdoor learning is right at our doorstep and our Walking Wednesdays make the most of it. With permission provided at the start of the year, students take part in regular “walking field trips” in the neighbourhood surrounding Queen Elizabeth Elementary.
These weekly outings support everything from physical activity to hands-on learning in science, math, and language arts. Whether it’s spotting painted rocks, exploring nature trails, or simply enjoying a breath of fresh air, students and teachers alike look forward to these mini adventures in our own backyard.
Lunch monitors
Many of our Grade 4 students take on an important leadership role at QEE by volunteering as lunch monitors. Supporting younger students in Kindergarten to Grade 2, they help create a safe, welcoming environment during lunch and transition times.
This experience gives our Grade 4s a meaningful opportunity to develop their social responsibility, show empathy, and build positive relationships across the school community.
