First Day of School – September 2, 2025
We are looking forward to welcoming all our students, new and returning, to QMS on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
Our schedule will remain the same as last year. The warning bell will ring at 8:31 a.m. and classes will begin at 8:36 a.m., with the school day ending at 3 p.m.
On Tuesday, September 2, students in Grades 5, 6 and 7 will be attending for approximately one hour (between 8:36 a.m. and 9:36 a.m.).
Grade 8 students will be attending for most of day and will be dismissed at 1:30 p.m., as there will be lessons and team-building activities planned for them. All Grade 8 students are asked to pack a lunch and bring their water bottles on Tuesday. This scheduling difference is based on Ministry of Education and Child Care requirements for instructional time, which is higher for Grade 8 than Grades 5-7.
Below is the schedule for Tuesday, September 2 (8:36 a.m.):
- All Grade 8 students (both returning and new students) will meet on the grass field.
- All Grade 6 and 7 students will meet with their last year’s teacher.

- Div. 13 – Portable 6 – Peter Ha
- Div. 14 – Portable 4 – Kim Johal
All Grade 5 students from QE (registered) will meet in the gym.
All new Grade 5, 6, 7 students will meet in the multi purpose room.
When Grade 5 to 7 students are dismissed (at 9:36 a.m.), they are asked to go home, as there are still grade 8 classes in session.
On Wednesday, September 3 all students will be attending for the full day. Please make sure that your child brings their lunch, water bottle and school supplies with them.
On Wednesday, Grade 8 students will go directly to their new classrooms, while all Grade 6 and 7 students will again meet with their last year’s teachers, and all Grade 5 students will meet in the gym.
