First Day of School – September 8, 2026
We are looking forward to welcoming all our students, new and returning, to QMS on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
The new middle school start time is 8:34 a.m. (not 8:36 a.m.), while the first bell will remain at 8:31 a.m. Students who arrive early to school may wait outside, or they may come into the building through the side entrance only (by the MPR/Gym) and gather in the hallway until the bell rings. The warning bell will ring at 8:31 a.m. and classes will begin at 8:34 a.m., with the school day ending at 3 p.m.
On Tuesday, September 8, Grade 5-7 students will be at school from 8:34-9:34 a.m., while Grade 8 students will be dismissed at 11:55 a.m. When the bell rings at 8:34 a.m., all Grade 5 students will go directly to the Gym, all Grade 8 students will gather on the soccer field, Grade 6 & 7 students will go to their last year’s classrooms, and any new Grade 6 & 7 students will go to the Multi-Purpose Room (MPR).
Below is the schedule for Tuesday, September 8 (8:34 a.m.):
- All Grade 8 students (both returning and new students) will meet on the grass field.
- All Grade 6 and 7 students will meet with their last year’s teacher.

- Div. 7 – Room 201 – Ms. Takhar
- Div. 8 – Room 216 – Ms. Carrington
- Div. 9 – Room 214 – Mr. Rouleau

- Div. 11 – Room 203 – Ms. Grewall
- Div. 12 – Room 125 – Ms. Sidhu
- Div. 13 – Portable 6 – Mr. Ha
- Div. 14 – Portable 2 – Ms. Johal
- Div. 15 – Portable 1 – Ms. Hin Wong
All Grade 5 students from QE (registered) will meet in the gym.
When Grade 5 to 7 students are dismissed (at 9:34 a.m.), they are asked to go home, as there are still grade 8 classes in session.
On Wednesday, September 9 all students will be attending for the full day. Please make sure that your child brings their snacks, lunch, water bottle and school supplies with them.
On Wednesday, Grade 8 students will go directly to their new classrooms, while all Grade 6 and 7 students will again meet with their last year’s teachers, and all Grade 5 students will meet in the gym.
