ERASE (Expect Respect and a Safe Education) is a provincial initiative aimed at preventing and standing up to bullying in schools. Bullying is a persistent pattern of unwelcome or aggressive behaviour intended to harm or humiliate a person and is a problem that affects both children and adults.
ERASE empowers families and educators in the B.C. K-12 education system to get help on complex issues facing students in schools by providing resources and training, including:
- Online safety
- Mental health and well-being
- Bullying
- Racism
- School safety and more.
Reporting bullying
New Westminster Schools students who are victims of bullying or who witnessed bullying or other types of disturbing, anti-social behaviour may report incidents anonymously through ERASE.
All messages are secure, anonymous, and confidential and reports are sent directly to the school and/or the district’s safe school coordinator.
