FuelUp: Same great program, new provider

At this week’s Board of Education meeting, we announced the outcome of a recent review and RFP process we conducted around our FuelUp Lunch Program. We wanted to share the news today that, starting in September, FuelUp Lunch Program will be provided to families across the District by the team at The Lunch Lady.

We’re looking forward to welcoming this new lunch provider to the program, as we know they will continue to provide tasty, affordable and healthy meals for kids across the district, while delivering on some of the things you told us would help improve the experience. They have been doing an excellent job this year of helping supply some of our schools with breakfast and snack options, and we know they’ll build on that as they take on our lunch program as well.

We are exceptionally proud of the stigma-free way that our FuelUp Lunch Program supports families in need of subsidies, while it also helps take the pressure off of busy parents who appreciate having this easy option available to order from. Nothing will change about that.

What will change is the process for ordering meals, and the fact that we will be asking all families who require subsidies to re-apply, as we update new systems. We will send information in August about how to reapply, and what you need to do to set up new accounts, with our new lunch program provider.
