What is a Neighbourhood Learning Centre?
A Neighbourhood Learning Centre is a community space located inside a school that brings families, educators, and services together. The QEE NLC will be a place where the Queensborough community can find programs and services that support a variety of needs.
Some examples of what you can look forward to at the QEE NLC include:
- Early learning programs like StrongStart for young children and caregivers.
- Programs in the centre’s shared space that support newcomers, health, wellness, and community connection.
- On-site childcare in safe, play-based environments while adults take part in programs.

What comes next
This fall, we will invite Queensborough families and community members to share their thoughts as part of a public consultation process.
A community-wide survey will be available from November 3 to November 17 on the district, Queensborough Elementary School, and Queensborough Middle School websites. Your input will help shape the programs offered and how the shared space will be used.
- The survey link will be posted here when it is available.
