Statement on the Queensborough Bus Program
New Westminster Schools understands the profound anxiety and logistical challenges currently facing our families due to the uncertainty surrounding Queensborough bus funding. The Board of Education and district administration have joined our District and school-level Parent Advisory Councils in a unified call to the Government of British Columbia to ensure the continuation of this vital program through direct funding from Victoria. We recognize that for the Queensborough community, dedicated transportation is an essential service that ensures equitable access to education.
As we await a formal response from the province, the Board remains steadfast in its advocacy. We continue to urge the government to secure a long-term, practical, and affordable funding solution that provides our families with the clarity and support they deserve. The district remains committed to the stability of our students’ commutes.
