Vice Principal (Exempt) – Summer Learning 2026
We are inviting applications from from dedicated and enthusiastic educators to fill this temporary administrative vacancy.
This position’s term is from July 2 to July 31, 2026. Please note vice principals will be required to work the June 29 admin day).
Requirements
An educational leadership position reporting to the Principal, Summer Learning, with point responsibility for:
- Academic summer school program.
- Availability for the entire term of the summer learning contract.
- Willingness to facilitate school wide themes and events.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will meet the eligibility requirements of the BC School Act and will have:
- Valid BC Teachers Certificate
- Masters Degree from a recognized university
- Demonstrated excellence as a teacher
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with limited supervision
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience organizing, adjudicating, and marking provincial exams
- Evidence of strong collaborative skills
- Experience working with high school students and adult students
- Knowledge of the Ministry of Education Graduation Program
- Knowledge of the Ministry of Education audit process an asset

Teachers are required for full-credit online courses (Career Life Education 10 and Career Life Connections 12).

- Priority will be given to individuals with experience with asynchronous and synchronous learning and proficiency working the Brightspace platform (LMS). The successful candidate will be able to troubleshoot Brightspace technical difficulties without assistance. Teachers will be required to be on site at NWSS to support student learning minimum of 2 times per week.
