New Westminster Neighbourhood House and District co-ordinate aid for Pinecrest Manor fire victims
NEW WESTMINSTER, B.C. – New Westminster Schools and the New Westminster Neighbourhood House are working together to support community members displaced by the fire at Pinecrest Manor.
The incident, which occurred early Saturday morning, has significantly impacted many local families. In response, a donation centre has been established at the Lord Kelvin Elementary gymnasium, located at 1010 Hamilton Street, to collect aid for those affected by the loss.
The donation centre’s hours are:
- Saturday, July 11: 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
- Sunday, July 12: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
The centre is expected to remain operational for one week, with weekday hours to be announced.
Organizers are requesting that donors prioritize monetary contributions and gift cards, which offer the greatest flexibility for displaced residents.
- Monetary: Cash at the donation centre or e-transfers can be sent to admin@newwestnh.ca.
- Gift cards: Preferred in $25 denominations.
- Physical goods: The centre is accepting gently worn clothing and shoes. Donors are asked to ensure all items are in clean, good, and usable condition.
